This time, we will introduce Microsoft Edge, one of the latest multi-browsers.
Originally, Edge was equipped to Windows10 as the successor browser to Internet Explorer. Since it was made for a touch-aware interface, it was difficult to use in a Windows desktop environment. At that time, there were many other browsers (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, safari) and we did not feel the need to switch to Edge.
Edge was renewed in January 2020. In addition to Windows, it is now available on mac, iPhone, and Android devices, and it allows users to share passwords, favorites, and settings between devices like Chrome. The new Microsoft Edge is based on the same open source project called Chromium as Chrome and has a chrome-like interface.

■Features of Microsoft Edge |
The new Microsoft Edge is designed to improve performance and compatibility and gives top priority to protecting privacy. The SmartScreen feature provides enhanced security measures, including identifying and alerting phishing sites and malware sites. In addition, we can see the idea of independence from OS through the support of devices other than Windows.

■Microsoft Edge Usage Report |
Microsoft Edge for Windows is automatically delivered in an update, but you can also access the Edge site and update it manually. If you have used a different browser, the Microsoft Edge import feature is available.
|
1. Launch Edge and open [Settings | Import browser data].
2. Select the browser and profile from which you want to import (Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox are selectable.)
Browsing history, favorites (bookmarks), passwords, etc. can be imported. After importing, these data remain on the original browser, so you can access the same data whenever you need on your old browser.
We have found no major problems after importing the data. Microsoft Edge menus do not have shortcuts to Google Map or Google Drive, but it is hardly a problem because you can favorite the links of the websites.
In addition, the FORUM8's "Suite Accounting" series' cloud service is fully cloud-enabled and available on any OS and devices, so users can always check their company's assets and profit and loss status. We think the new Microsoft Edge multi-device support makes it easier to use.
